Editorial & Content Guidelines

Last updated: October 20, 2026

What Vietnamese newsrooms accept, what they reject, and the technical rules for images, word count and links in a press release.

1. How Vietnamese newsrooms review content

Vietnamese outlets operate under the national Press Law and their own editorial charters. Every submitted article is reviewed by an editor who decides whether it is newsworthy, verifiable and legally safe. We pre-screen each release against those criteria before submission to reduce rejection risk, but the final decision always rests with the newsroom.

2. Accepted content

  • Company news: funding rounds, market entry, partnerships, product launches, appointments, awards, CSR and ESG initiatives.
  • Industry commentary with a named author and verifiable credentials.
  • Event announcements with dates, venue and organiser details.
  • Research or survey findings with methodology and sample size disclosed.

3. Rejected content

  • Content that breaches Vietnamese law, including material that could affect national security, sovereignty or social order.
  • Gambling, betting, cryptocurrency trading promotions, adult content, weapons, and unlicensed financial or medical claims.
  • Unverified accusations against named individuals or companies, defamation, and disclosure of private personal data.
  • Pure advertising dressed as news, thin affiliate content, or articles whose only purpose is keyword stuffing.
  • Counterfeit goods, prohibited supplements and products without required Vietnamese licences.

4. Length, structure and images

  • Recommended length: 600–1,200 words for a standard article; 400–700 words for a short news item.
  • Structure: a factual headline (maximum 120 characters), a lead paragraph answering who/what/when/where/why, body sections with subheadings, and a boilerplate "About [company]" paragraph.
  • Images: 2–4 images, minimum 1,200 px wide, JPG or PNG, with a caption and a stated copyright source. Images without rights clearance are removed by the newsroom.
  • No watermarked stock previews, screenshots of chat applications, or images containing contact details.

5. Links and attribution

  • One to three contextual links are typically accepted. Links must be relevant to the paragraph that contains them.
  • Anchor text should be a natural phrase, not a keyword list. Exact-match commercial anchors are frequently stripped by editors.
  • Link formatting is decided by each publisher, and editors may edit or remove links during review.
  • We do not guarantee search rankings; editorial value depends on the publisher.

6. Translation and fact-checking

Our editors translate for meaning and readability in Vietnamese, keeping brand names, product names and legal entities unchanged. Numbers, dates and quotations are checked against your source text. Where a claim is unclear, we ask you for evidence rather than soften or remove it silently.

You receive the final Vietnamese text for approval before submission. Once approved, changes requested by a newsroom are limited to formatting and headline adjustments unless they affect accuracy.

7. Corrections after publication

If a factual error is identified after publication, notify us within 48 hours. We request a correction from the publisher. Publishers control the final wording of corrections; we cannot force deletion of an article that complies with their editorial policy.
