Last Updated: August 7, 2026
Welcome to OpenLiti.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the OpenLiti website, services, features, and related products (“Services”).
By accessing or using OpenLiti, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Services.
1. About OpenLiti
OpenLiti is an online learning platform that allows users to create flashcards from files, documents, text, vocabulary lists, and other supported content.
OpenLiti may provide features for creating, organizing, reviewing, and studying flashcards and other learning materials.
We may add, modify, improve, or discontinue features as the Services evolve.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to use the Services under the laws applicable to you.
If you are not old enough to enter into a legally binding agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use OpenLiti only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
By using OpenLiti, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
Certain features may require you to create an account.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information.
- Keeping your login credentials secure.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
- All activity that occurs through your account.
You must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed or used without authorization.
You may not sell, transfer, rent, or otherwise provide your account to another person unless expressly permitted by OpenLiti.
4. Your Content
You may upload or submit files, documents, text, vocabulary lists, and other materials (“User Content”) to OpenLiti.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant OpenLiti the limited rights necessary to process, store, reproduce, transform, and display that content solely as required to provide and operate the Services.
For example, we may process content you provide to generate flashcards and other study materials.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit and process your User Content through OpenLiti.
5. Generated Study Content
OpenLiti may automatically transform the content you provide into flashcards, questions, answers, summaries, study sets, or other learning materials.
Automatically generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccurate interpretations.
You are responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on it for study, academic, professional, or other purposes.
OpenLiti does not guarantee that generated content will always be complete, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use OpenLiti to:
- Upload or distribute content that violates applicable law.
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties.
- Upload malicious software, viruses, harmful code, or other material designed to interfere with systems or networks.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to OpenLiti, other accounts, servers, or systems.
- Circumvent usage limits, security measures, or access restrictions.
- Scrape, crawl, extract, or collect data from the Services through unauthorized automated methods.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services.
- Use the Services for fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or unlawful activities.
- Use another person’s account without authorization.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or the Services are being abused.
7. Intellectual Property
OpenLiti and its associated software, website design, branding, logos, interfaces, technology, and original content are owned by or licensed to OpenLiti and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, using OpenLiti does not grant you ownership of our intellectual property.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected elements of the Services except where permitted by law or with our written authorization.
8. Copyright
You must only upload or submit content that you have the legal right to use.
OpenLiti does not claim ownership of the original files or content you upload.
If we receive a valid complaint that content processed or stored through OpenLiti infringes intellectual property rights, we may remove or restrict access to that content and may take appropriate action regarding the associated account.
Repeated infringement may result in account suspension or termination.
9. Free and Paid Services
OpenLiti may offer free features as well as paid plans, subscriptions, credits, or other premium services.
The features, usage limits, pricing, and benefits associated with each plan may be displayed on the OpenLiti website at the time of purchase.
We may modify our plans, pricing, usage limits, or available features from time to time.
Changes affecting an existing paid subscription will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any terms presented when the subscription was purchased.
10. Payments
When you purchase a paid service, you agree to provide valid and accurate payment information.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. Your use of their payment services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes, fees, or charges associated with your purchase unless otherwise stated.
11. Subscriptions and Renewals
If a paid plan is offered as an automatically renewing subscription, the renewal terms, billing frequency, and applicable price will be presented to you before purchase.
Unless canceled before the applicable renewal date, an automatically renewing subscription may renew for another billing period where permitted by applicable law.
You may cancel a subscription using the cancellation methods made available by OpenLiti.
Cancellation generally prevents future renewal and does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a billing period that has already begun, except where required by law or provided under our Refund Policy.
12. Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by the OpenLiti Refund Policy and applicable consumer protection laws.
Where applicable law provides rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, those rights remain unaffected.
13. Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable access to OpenLiti, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, infrastructure issues, third-party services, technical problems, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services when reasonably necessary.
14. Third-Party Services
OpenLiti may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including hosting providers, payment processors, analytics providers, infrastructure services, and technology providers.
We are not responsible for third-party services that operate independently from OpenLiti.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Educational Purposes
OpenLiti is designed to assist with learning, studying, and reviewing information.
The Services do not guarantee specific educational outcomes, grades, examination results, professional qualifications, or other results.
Information and study materials generated or displayed through OpenLiti should be reviewed and verified when accuracy is important.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using OpenLiti at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to some or all of the Services if:
- You materially violate these Terms.
- Your use creates security or legal risks.
- Your account is involved in fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity.
- We are required to do so by law.
- Continued access could materially harm OpenLiti, our users, or third parties.
Where appropriate and reasonably possible, we may provide notice before taking such action.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OpenLiti is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that the Services will always be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that all generated study materials will be accurate or complete.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OpenLiti and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Services.
This may include loss of data, profits, business opportunities, or other intangible losses.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
19. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us.
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your relationship with OpenLiti.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, business practices, or legal requirements.
When these Terms are updated, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
For material changes, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
Your continued use of OpenLiti after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the entity that operates OpenLiti, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country or region.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive consumers of protections they are entitled to under applicable law.
